ARTICLE 1 - FIELD RULES
These are the rules for safe operating practices at the Federation of AERO Modelers, and must be followed at all times!
1. Pilots taxiing airplanes shall use extreme caution to make certain that their airplane does not present a hazard to other pilots/spectators. Taxiing airplanes shall be limited to the area from the engine starting tables/positions past the pilots flying stations and parallel to the runway until entering the runway. When exiting the active runway, engines shall be shut down not later than the time the airplane reaches the startup/setup tables.
2. The first pilot to enter the runway designates the active runway.
3. A maximum of 4 planes are allowed in the pattern at one time. Helicopters/drones/park flyers are NOT allowed to operate within the designated pattern or flight window as long as one or more R/C aircraft pilots in the pattern. However, a helicopter/drone/park flyer is allowed to occupy the flight window/pattern once the R/C aircraft pilot(s) have safely landed. R/C aircraft pilots are not allowed to fly in the same flight window/pattern with a helicopter/drone/park flyer. There are to no more than 2 helicopter/drone/park flyers operating in the pattern at any given time.
4. The areas north and east of the flight line, are considered NO FLY ZONES and any violation of this will be grounds for pilot’s removal from the group. In addition, on days wherein the flying site is occupied, pilots will NOT fly north or east of the flight pattern. Anyone flying over any building structure, rodeo arena, fairgrounds or any other area designated to be off limits will be considered to have committed a serious violation and will be considered for expulsion from the group. Low passes are only allowed directly over the designated runway. R/C Pilots should always be aware of low flying full scale aircraft. If a full scale aircraft approaches the flying site all model aircraft should immediately tighten their flight pattern to small circles and descend below 400ft.. If the possibility exists to land asap without risking a crash, that is the primary suggested course of action.
5. The flying site is to be used for radio controlled fixed wing and rotary wing/drone aircraft only. Other RC operation including turbine power, RC cars, RC trucks, RC motorcycles, or model rocketry is allowed only when the flight window/pattern is empty and all aircraft are grounded.
6. Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed anywhere on the property at any time! Pilots shall not consume alcoholic beverages prior to or during participation in any model operations. Drugs are NOT allowed on the club property under any circumstance. Any pilot violating this will article be immediately expelled from the group.
7. Any pilot who is NOT part of the Federation of AERO Modelers but, desires to join. He/she shall read & sign off on the group by laws. A person does not have to be a pilot to join our group. We do not require AMA or membership nor do we require FAA registration. Every person who fly's with our group is solely responsible for their own actions, aircraft and responsible for any damage to property or person(s). The Federation of AERO Modelers assumes no liability for damages to property or persons(s) whether implied or assumed.
8. Gliders using a "High start" may only be used when powered aircraft are not in the air.
9. All aircraft shall be flown in a safe and respectful manner at all times. Anyone who willingly is disrespectful to other pilots, fly's in an unsafe manner or acts in any way in an unsafe manner will immediately be asked to leave the property.
10. A range check shall be performed prior to flight on all new aircraft prior to the first flight, on all aircraft that have experienced significant repairs, and on each aircraft that has not flown in the most recent 60 days.
11. All new or recently repaired aircraft shall be pre-flight inspected prior to flight. This inspection shall be conducted by the any other advanced/experienced pilot. This examination of the plane shall take place prior to its maiden or next flight.
12. The Safety Officer is primarily responsible for monitoring members' conformance to the flying field regulations. However, all members are responsible to insure that members and guests follow the field rules, operate safely and extend courtesy to other members and guests. All group members are given the authority to ground any pilot for unsafe practices and repeated flying past the field flying boundaries.
13. No trash of any kind should be left at the flying site. You are responsible for removal of you're own trash. Anyone who leave behind trash will be subject to expulsion from participating in the Federation of AERO Modelers.
14. Obscene language “Profanity” will not be allowed. Offenders will be given one warning and then asked to leave upon continuation of such conduct. "Profanity" is defined as any spoken words, gestures, acts or not excluding obscene material that anyone finds offensive.
15. No flying is allowed during any other onsite facility functions.
Any type of flying that endangers people at the flying site will not be tolerated. It is the responsibility of every member to follow and enforce these rules. Any pilot flying in a reckless or unsafe manner will be verbally warned one time. If the reckless or unsafe activity continues, the pilot will be asked to land his/her plane and leave the ground immediately. The club officers will decide if the pilot in violation will be allowed to remain a club member and return to the club flying field. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. DO NOT hesitate to remind any violator of their obligation to follow the above rules.
ARTICLE 2 - DUES, FEES, AND MEMBERSHIP
1. There are no dues, memberships to our group is free. We are NOT an AMA sanctioned Club.
ARTICLE 3 - DISCIPLINARY ACTION
1. PURPOSE:
The purpose of this Disciplinary Action section is to provide the "Federation of AERO Modelers" a process to assure that all pilots comply with rules affecting conduct at the group flying site and at any event or activity conducted by the "Federation of AERO Modelers". These standing rules and bylaws are intended to provide for the safety and protection of all pilots, guests, and the public, via this process to assure pilots are in compliance.
2. PROCESS:
When a pilot is in violation of standing rules affecting conduct, whether flying or non-flying, any pilot has the authority to notify the person in violation of the violation. After the initial notice, if violation of standing rules continues, the group's senior pilots have the authority to revoke the persons right to fly with this group.
ARTICLE 3 - DEFINITIONS
“NON-Fly Day” – Any activities in process at or in proximity to the Federation of AERO Modelers designated flying site. The club perimeter shall be explained to every person, pilot or non-pilot.
“Fly Day” – This will be the non-existence of any activities or civilians on or near the Federation of AERO Modelers designated flying site. The club perimeter shall be explained to every person, pilot or non-pilot.
CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE 1. - NAME
The name of this club shall be the "Federation of AERO Modelers", shall be operated as a non-profit organization. The Federation of AERO Modelers is not a chartered organization. Every member is responsible & accountable for themselves and actions thereof. The Federation of AERO Modelers is NOT bound in any manner to the AMA or the FAA.
ARTICLE 2. - PURPOSE
Section I. The objective of Federation of AERO Modelers shall be to promote the building and flying of radio controlled model aircraft in this county and promote a satisfying experience for all R/C modelers.
ARTICLE 3. - MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. There are no memberships for our group. We are a non profit group of friends who gather together to enjoy the hobby of flying model aircraft.
ARTICLE 4. - CLUB OFFICERS
Section 4. All pilots are responsible for each other. Safety is everyone's responsibility!

Section I. The Bylaws are the rules adopted by the founding members of the Federation of AERO Modelers.

- Pilots that encounter an emergency, such as radio interference, dead stick, etc., and wish to land, must state their situation in a loud voice to obtain priority for landing.
- Direction of the active runway may be changed by a unanimous agreement of all fliers currently in the air during a change in wind direction.

- Greet new people at the flying site; explain the sport and how to become involved in the hobby
- Know the location of nearest hospital and police department
- Know location of fire extinguisher
- Pre-flight inspection of new and repaired aircraft
- Authority to prevent individual fliers from flying if their conduct or aircraft is not suitable
- Supervision of flight line and frequency control
- Know address and shortest route to hospital, police, and fire department
- Names of persons qualified in first aid, including CPR
