The Federation of AERO Modelers, located in Longview, Texas, was formed to secure, develop and operate a flying site for radio controlled model aircraft; to create interest in model building; to aid beginners through the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experience; to promote model flying to the individual and the community; to provide a progressive training program for all phases of radio control model flying; and to promote recognition of appropriate activities.
Any pilot who wishes to fly with our group does NOT have to have an (AMA) Academy of Model Aeronautics membership card, nor do you have to have a FAA registration. All pilot's who fly with our group, fly at their own risk. Federation of AERO Modelers does not assume any responsibility for any damage to person or property. However, It is mandatory that all pilots who fly with our group act in a safe & respectful manner at all times. Again, current AMA membership is NOT required but recommended.
The Federation of AERO Modelers has pilots who voluntarily provide flight instruction to beginner student pilots at no charge. Student pilots are required to have their own trainer-type model aircraft, engine, radio system, and field equipment and are highly encouraged to have a compatible “buddy box” along with their radio system to make their flight learning experience quicker, more enjoyable, and less costly.
We are just a small non profit group who enjoy flying R/C aircraft.
